The electronic textbook "Clinical Biochemistry - Selected Chapters" aims to be a practical resource for senior medical students and new doctors studying laboratory medicine. It is designed to help them understand commonly used clinical-biochemical tests and serves as a starting point for a deeper exploration of laboratory methods and their application in diagnostic and monitoring procedures. In addition to an introductory chapter, the textbook contains 13 chapters focusing on disorders of water-ion and acid-base balance, biochemical diagnosis of various organ-related diseases (kidneys, liver, heart, thyroid gland, and adrenal glands), as well as common conditions like diabetes and dyslipidemia. It also covers topics, such as inflammation, oncological diseases, and iron and heme metabolism. The second edition of the textbook has been updated to reflect current changes in professional recommendations and to be more understandable for users.

The presentations are a set of lectures intended for students of the 3rd year of general medicine. The individual lectures are correlated with the current syllabus of the subject Internal Medicine 1 in the summer semester of the third year of study. Gain basic theoretical knowledge of cardiology and pneumology, get acquainted with the examination procedures used in these diseases.

Lectures are devoted to the students of the 1st study year in the field of Dental medicine. Students can find here the supporting material in the form of lecture notes from Histology and Embryology 1. According to the syllabus of lectures for winter semester these topics are included: Cytology, Epithelial tissue, Connective tissues, Muscle tissue, Nerve tissue and Embryology (1.-8. week of development).

The main focus of the present lecture series set on the physical principles of diagnostic and therapeutic leading-edge medical technology units, as well as on the biophysical effects in human body after application of biophysical techniques. Side effects and safe, efficient usage of medical devices in practice is also described. The subjects of molecular biophysics, membrane biophysics, and bioenergetics are included here as well.

It distinguishes between primary and secondary headaches, emphasizing their high prevalence in the general population and their importance in clinical practice. Special attention is given to “red flag” symptoms that may indicate serious secondary causes, as well as to a structured approach to patient history and evaluation of headache characteristics.

The main focus is directed towards the physical principles of diagnostic and therapeutic leading-edge medical technology units, as well as towards biophysical effects in human body after application of biophysical techniques, encountered side effects and safe, efficient usage of medical devices in practice. The subjects of molecular biophysics, membrane biophysics, and bioenergetics, respectively, are included here as well.

The lecture deals with Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders as part of extrapyramidal diseases. Parkinson's disease is presented as a complex multi-organ and multi-neurotransmitter neurodegenerative disease with motor and non-motor symptoms, with dopamine deficiency playing a key role.

The lecture for 4th-year general medicine students discusses vertebrogenic diseases of discopathy and degenerative, traumatic, as well as non-traumatic (inflammatory) spondylopathy etiology, leading to damage of structures such as the spinal cord and spinal nerves. It addresses the most common vertebrogenic pain syndromes.

This presentation explores neuroinfections, which are infections that affect the central and peripheral nervous system. Key topics include the major types of neuroinfections such as meningitis, encephalitis, meningoencephalitis, myelitis, neuritis, polyneuritis, radiculitis, polyradiculoneuritis and also neuroboreliosis and neurosyphylis. The last topic are brain abscesses. During the lecture were presented the main clinical features, diagnostic procedures, differential diagnosis and treatment.
